This 2010 project by Griffin Enright Architects has a gorgeous concrete exterior and urban landscape. There is an outside deck that serves as an extension to the landscape and a pool that sits alongside the house. There are also two porches which protect the interior from harsh sunlight in summer and allow more light during winter.
“The dichotomy between the understated street presence and the openness of the backyard enhances the narrative experience of finding the vast view in the living spaces upon entry to the house. This threshold is enhanced by the articulation of two vertical walls that fold into roof surfaces to create a backdrop that anchors the horizontal qualities of the terrain”.
